Green hydrogen and P2X technology pioneer P2X Solutions Ltd and Nakkila-based construction company Ruoppaus P. Suominen Oy have signed a contract agreement according to which Ruoppaus P. Suominen Oy will build P2X Solutions’ 20 MW hydrogen production plant in Harjavalta.
Preparatory works and, for example, piling have been conducted at the site in the Harjavalta Industrial Park since summer of 2022, and the foundation stone of the facility will be laid in January 2023. When completed in 2024, the Harjavalta plant will be Finland’s first industrial-scale green hydrogen production plant.
“Selecting a construction partner is an important milestone towards commencing green hydrogen production in 2024. I am happy that a local company was selected to construct the Harjavalta plant. With this partnership, we also strengthen regional vitality in Satakunta,” says Herkko Plit, CEO of P2X Solutions.

P2X Solutions will also continue the preparations for other production plant projects. In August 2022, the company announced the preliminary studies of a 30–50 MW green hydrogen and e-fuel production facility potentially to be built in Joensuu together with the energy group Savon Voima. In September 2022, the European Commission added P2X Solutions’ 70 MW green hydrogen and synthetic methane production plant project to the Important Projects of Common European Interest (IPCEI) list. The goal of P2X Solutions is to build 1,000 MW of green hydrogen production capacity by 2031.
